Cold Pressed Flaxseed Oil

FLAXSEED OIL - Extensive research has demonstrated the health benefits of essential fatty acids in reducing the risk of heart attack. Flax seed oil is often used in weight loss supplements because of its positive effects in burning fat. Flax seed Oil is one of Nature's richest plant sources of essential fatty acids (EFAs) which are necessary for health and must be supplied by the diet.

The seeds produced the vegetable oil called flaxseed oil (also known as linseed oil). Flaxseed oil is one of the oldest oils and has been used for centuries. The flax seeds are edible, and are one of the most concentrated plant sources for omega 3 fats, and the use as a healthy nutritional supplement is rising.

Taking 1to2 tablespoons of ground flax seeds daily is an alternative to fish oil supplements for vegetarians and vegans, and for those concerned about high levels of heavy metals in fish. One tablespoon of flax seeds and three tablespoons of water can serve as a replacement for one egg by binding the other ingredients together. Ground flax seeds can be mixed with yogurt, oatmeal, or other foods where a nutty flavor is appropriate.

Flax seeds main nutritional benefits are the lignans and omega 3 fatty acids. The lignans benefit the heart and have anticancer properties. Omegas 3s, often in short supply in populations with low fish diets, promote heart health by reducing cholesterol, blood pressure and plaque formation. Flaxseed is a great source of nutrition and contains considerable amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, alpha linolenic acid, dietary fiber (soluble & insoluble), lignans, protein and potassium.
